Ahhhh. I really love this quilt. The colors are peaceful - yet create a dramatic field. And the quilting - wow! It was quilted by Dana Lacy Chapman - and she really pulled out all the stops! There is a profusion of vines, leaves, patterns and textures quilted over the surface. And a special surprise - 'Spike' - a machine embroidered and trapuntoed sprite created from metallic threads - peeking out from the background.
Unfortunately, the photographs simply don't do justice to the coloring in this piece - nor the quilting.

this detail shows some of the small patchwork used in this piece - and a selection of the quilting designs	this photograph is the truest to the actual color of the quilt - and, again, more of the many quilting designs used that cover the surface	here's Spike! he's an embroidered and trapuntoed sprite that is a gentle surprise when examining the quilt. He's detailed and delicate - and sparkly!
