Whether a special gift for a wedding, birthday, anniversary, retirement, promotion, graduation - a special memorial piece for a departed loved one - or a just-because-I-want-it present for yourself - a Memory Quilt will be a personal 'album' to enjoy - to use - to display - and to pass on. I will take your collection of photos, print them onto fabric (your precious photos returned to you unharmed), and design and create a Memory Quilt just for you! Your quilt can be as small as a throw pillow - or large enough to cover an entire wall - or to use on your bed! There is no end to the possibilities - and the choices are yours!

This Quilt was created as a 50th wedding anniversary surprise. The photos are all from the couple's courting days through their wedding day - with one special photo of all their children and grandchildren. This quilt was 50" square - and each of the photos were approximately 4 1/2" square. |

This quilt was made for a memorial service. Photographs of the deceased were used in the large border blocks - these included photographs of her at different times in her life, from her childhood to her 99th birthday party! There were also photographs of her husband, children and grandchildren. The client chose the Tree of Life pattern for the center because it was one of his mother's favorite quilt blocks. It was hung on the wall at the reception following the memorial service. It isn't visible in the photograph, but the white areas of the quilt are filled with messages, remembrances and prayers written by the guests at the service. This quilt is approx. 54"x72" and the photographs were approx. 4"square |

This is a more complicated process - but, wow!, what a stunning quilt and priceless memento. I will make up a 'kit' of blank squares of fabric for you to send to your friends and family members with an instruction sheet. They will decorate each square as they choose - as you can see from the quilt on the right, participants may use embroidery, paint, patchwork, applique, computer generated images, assemblage - they are only limited by their imaginations!

They return their finished blocks by a specific date - and I 'install' them in the tile-like grid of the quilt top. Because these blocks can get cumbersome (depending on what has been applied to them), I recommend tying this quilt, as opposed to quilting it. This can be a wonderful experience for everybody involved in your project - and, the results are striking, as well as a touching memento. The quilt pictured was 36"x54". Each of the special designed blocks were 9" square. |
